This item was recently left on the grave of a deceased Philadelphia sports fan, so we're guessing it may be a contemporary player of one of the Phila. sports teams. Jersey # 67

Clarence Jones. This was part of a collection I purchased, and was labeled former Chicago Cub baseball player Clarence Jones. However, this is *not* that person's signature. From the handwriting, I am guessing it is someone much older, possibly from another sport?

Also acquired in a collection purchase, this is a doctor's prescription, dated 1925... signed by doctor Joel E. Toothaker. I'm assuming the doctor that signed it is a notable, from Centralia, Washington.
UPDATE: it definitely is the Dr. Toothaker from Centralia, WA -- his son, also named Joel, is still practicing medicine there. I'm trying to figure out, though, why this would be part of an autograph collection?

Guessing this is a music signature... as the item that actually is signed is an American Bandstand signature sheet. Initian appear to be JB ?? WFIL TV Channel 6.

This was included in a private collection I bought. Last name possibly "Henry"? From the writing I'm dating it early 1900s, and it an attorney. Possibly a political signature?

Carol wrote inquiry about the photo to the left. Click on it for the full-size image. It came from the estate of Howard Hughes' secretary, Charlotte Mays. She worked for him in the 30s and 40s. This photo looks to be dated 1931

Kevin has a baseball that he can't identify the signature on. He received it as a gift in 2004-2005 while he was an intern for the Cleveland Indians.
Benjamin e-mailed us and confirmed this ball was signed by Dannys Baez

Frank wrote in needing help identifying the signatures on this hat. He believes it was from the late 1980s or early 90s, and possibly from the New York Yankees, or obtained at a card show.
On Sep 1, 2013, Mike A identified Buck Showalter in the center of the hat... Cord identified another sig possibly as Billy Connors (coach).. which would make the ball from 1994. Daryl Boston has also been identified (by Cord) -- which would confirm this is a 1994 Yankees hat.

Heather wrote with a request to help identify this signature that was on a t-shirt from the late 1990s... signed in the Denver, CO area. Possibly a former Denver Bronco?

Jack & Rebecca wrote asking if I could help identify this ball. If any of you can assist, please do! It is a Natl. League ball that was found in an auction near Birmingham, AL
P. Selk wrote in to identify this ball as Dennis Eckersly.  Brandon also wrote in to identify it as an older Steve Garvey signature. Upon closer inspection, I believe it is indeed Eckersly. **UPDATE: Mike Aring identified this ball as Andres Galarraga.

A baseball I picked up in a thrift shop for $4. Unfortunately the baseball is in poor condition, with some signatures being in a red Sharpie, and others in a faded ballpoint pen. The signed item is a Charles Feeney Official Natl. League Baseball, so I date it post 1970. I believe I have identified one signature of catcher Larry Cox, and a second as Hall of Famer Gary Carter. These two do not seem to have any connection in major league baseball, except that they are both catchers. The lone signature is also signed in red Sharpie, and seems to have the initials "GG."
** SOLVED ** We heard from several site visitors that this ball is a team signed baseball of the 1975 Phillies. I am still sure this also features a signature of Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter.

The photos two the left are of two signatures that I cannot identify from a 1966 White Sox team-signed baseball. Click on the photos for a larger image.
Jim Kiser wrote to tell us #3 was Jack Lamabe... I believe he is right!

These photos are four different portions of a team signed baseball I believe to be a 1992 Charlotte Rangers team signed baseball... the class A affilliate of the Texas Rangers. If you can identify any of the signatures, or have a team roster from that year, please contact me!

Has a #12 with it. I believe this was signed by a member of one of the Puerto Rican winter league baseball teams.

8

Not much info on this one. I received in the mail - and believe it to be a major league baseball player.

Jorge Ojeda. Trying to find info on this player. I believe he played in a Puerto Rican baseball winter league.
This has been identified as minor league ballplayer Jorge Ojeda. In addition to Puerto Rico Winter League play, he also played in the California Angeles minor league system in the 1980s.

No info on this. Possibly a Craig.
Vote for Craig Wilson

I believe this is a basketball player from around 1990. Signed it with #32 and inscription of Psalm 118:9-11 -- may have played for a Christian exhibition basketball team of some sort.

Mike Aring wrote in to say it's Michael Westbrook, but I am waiting for more confirmation.
